SNU's academic year begins in the Spring. The university offers admissions for the Fall semester as well as the Spring. Undergraduate applicants should note, however, that only transfer admission is available in the Fall. Please note the following important dates: |

What procedures do I follow if I wish to courses in which I have already registered? |
 |

Students wishing to drop a course or change from one course to another may do so by submitting a “Change in Course Registration” form to the Department Main Office after having your instructor’s approval and signature within the prescribed period. |

When do I register for courses? When can I make changes? |
 |

The dates for course registration are early February for the Spring semester and early August for the Fall semester. You are allowed to make changes to courses registered within announced periods in early March and early September for the Spring and Fall semesters, respectively. |

I understand that undergraduate students registered for more than 8 semesters and graduate students registered for more than 4 semesters need to pay an additional differential fee. Could you please explain? |

The differential fee is the difference in amount between the general tuition fee paid within the registration period and the amount payable depending on credits registered for, which may differ as changes of courses registered is made. This additional fee must be paid. Failure to pay the differential fee will result in automatic cancellation of changes of credits. (This applies only to undergraduate and graduate students registered for less than 12 and 6 credits respectively.) |

If I fail to register within the regular registration period, can I still register for that semester? |

There is an additional registration period for late students. However, it is strongly recommended that you register within the regular registration period. Additional dates are announced for March for the Spring semester, and for September in the Fall semester. Beyond these periods, a student cannot register. Students whose fees are not paid before the deadlines will be automatically withdrawn from the program according to the University’s Article 58 Section 4. |

Permission to resume classes cannot be completed without submission of a complete application. When must I resume classes? |
 |

To resume classes, you should register in January for the Spring semester and in July for the Fall semester. |

When should I apply to take the semester/year off if I am not registered, and how long if I am registered? |

If you are not registered, it is necessary for you to submit the application during the specified period for submission, i.e. February for the Spring semester and August for the Fall semester.
If you are registered, you may apply by submitting a completed application form no later than the second quarter of the semester once class begins. |

What are the application procedures if I wish to take a year/semester off? |

In general, to apply to take a semester/year off, you should fill out an application form, which should be confirmed by either your stamp/seal or signature. (If someone else is submitting the application on your behalf, only your stamp is accepted.) |
