This paper examines the causal effect of children’s health screening results on family behaviors, particularly investigating whether child development warnings prompt early intervention and how they influence family dynamics. We use difference-in-discontinuities design that exploits changes in child development assessment criteria within the Korean National Health Screening Program. Using administrative data covering the entire population, we find that responses vary by fathers' income levels. After receiving child's abnormal results, lower-income families show higher disability registration and increased medical utilization for developmental disorders over the following seven years. These families also delay subsequent fertility decisions. Higher-income families respond by reducing mother's employment, with no significant changes in disability registration. Fathers' employment remains unaffected regardless of income level. These findings highlight the need for income-targeted support mechanisms in early intervention programs.
